We offer small carriages to 5 people, as well as covered wagons for groups from 6 persons at. The covered wagons are equipped with a table and are very well maintained. When the weather is bad, the practical side tarpaulins can be lowered in two easy steps so that the guest sits absolutely dry and comfortably inside the car. Nevertheless, due to the transparent side tarpaulin, you have an excellent view of the outside. Our covered wagons are calculated with generous seating areas of 70 cm per seat, so that the guest can sit comfortably. When it comes to catering, too, it is important to us that there is enough arm room.

All heather trips are planned and implemented individually according to your wishes. For example, let yourself be pampered with homemade apple pie and coffee or a hearty stew in the middle of the heather on the carriage during a break. Also the Visit to the shepherd with its Heidschnucken is a highlight as well Drive to the barefoot park, for example as entertaining hen party, offers itself.

Our carriage rides through the Lüneburg Heath usually start at the large car park in 21272 Döhle. You pass the typical half-timbered heather houses of the village, in the nature reserve. After the carriage has left a small wood behind, it crosses the “floodplain” a clear, babbling brook. Immediately behind it, a crossroads invites you to take various round trips.

Drive to Wilsede (approx. 3 hours)

This tour leads straight on following the main path (see "Heiderundfahrt"). At the crossroads, not far behind Hannibal's grave, the carriage turns to the right and finally reaches Wilsede. The place is a listed building and can only be reached by motorized vehicle with a special permit. Here, in the heart of our northern heath, there are many ways to spend the one-hour break. Restaurants take care of the physical well-being and the guest has the opportunity to walk to the Totengrund or to the Wilseder Berg (highest point in northern Germany). The Heidemuseum impressively shows the life of the country and its people. A children's playground invites you to run around or serves as a picnic area for families.

Heider tour Hannibal's grave - Döhler Heide (approx. 2 hours)

The carriage follows the main path straight through the Döhler Fuhren. After the Döhler Moor passes by on the left, extensive heather areas begin on both sides. It goes over a typical, old cobblestone street, an avenue lined with rustic, centuries-old birch trees. A little later, Hannibal's grave is on the right. Finally there is another crossroads. Here the carriage drives around to the left, a little through the Sellhorn Forest. Large, beautiful beech trees often provide pleasant shade here. Now it doesn’t take long until the Döhler Heide is in front of you. One of the most beautiful heathlands in our region, as it is kept in optimal condition by the local Schnucken. We continue past bee fences and guard holders until the carriage reaches the Döhler sheepfold. With a little luck you will meet the shepherd with his heather sheep here. Finally you come back to the crossroads on the river bed of the narrow floodplain. The circular path closes. Now it is only a good 5 minutes' drive before the village of Döhle is reached again.

Approx. 3 hours round trip, with a stop in Sudermühlen

It goes right, straight into the Radenbachtal. These extensive heather areas (consisting of many so-called transition regions) offer a special attraction. Unleashed Dülmen wild ponies, as well as a robust type of cattle ("Wilseder Rotvieh"), preserved through generous browsing, these regions. The coach reaches Hof Sudermühlen after about 1 hour. A truly idyllic place to stay. The water of the narrow floodplain flows directly through a romantic duck pond and finally reaches a historic old water mill. Half-timbered stables and a cozy coffee garden in the shade of old oaks invite you to stop. Here, too, toilets are within reach. The way back leads through the Sudermühlen Heath, past the traditional sheepfold. The second stable of our Döhler Heidschnucken herd. The circle closes at the Radenbach Bridge and the journey goes through the most beautiful heathland back to Döhle.

Big tour of the Heath (approx. 4 hours)

This tour is designed individually according to your wishes. Recommended and a successful highlight is a picnic break in the heath. You are welcome to organize your meals yourself! During another break in Wilsede, toilets are within easy reach. A walk to the Totengrund or Wilseder Berg is ideal to enjoy a unique view of the most beautiful heathland. Alternatively, you could also drive along Steingrund and Totengrund on the way back to finally reach the starting point again via Döhler Heide. A multitude of possibilities that can be put together in a personal phone call.

Children's birthdays on the carriage

Exciting nature experience program with a state-recognized educator. On this carriage tour we will go on a unique journey of discovery with you. The carriage ride is an interesting and exciting adventure not only for children, but for all fellow travelers.

Our goal is to discover nature as a living space and experience together with you. Sensitization of the senses should enable an emotional relationship with nature, as a basis for a responsible and conscious handling of it later.

Picnic, coffee or stew rides

Our trips with a leisurely break in nature are particularly popular with young and old. The tables on the covered wagon invite you to a rustic meal. A special kind of culinary experience. In the fresh air, yet protected on the carriage, the guest tastes twice as good. Older people (often not very good on foot) can also fully enjoy this trip with the additional culinary delights. All meals and hot drinks are lovingly and always freshly prepared by the surrounding restaurants. Sausage and ham are from the village butcher, in-house production. All products are from the region. There is plenty of coffee and the apple pie is always fresh and particularly juicy!

These trips are tailored to your needs. You are also welcome to cater for yourself! The minimum duration is approx. 2.5 hours. A driving time of 3.5 hours is recommended, as you can then go to toilets during an additional break in Wilsede. Nevertheless, the time frame should be sufficient to drive the way back over the Döhler Heide.
